Biographical Note for Sauerman Brothers, Inc. (1911-????) : Sauerman Brothers was founded in 1911 in Chicago, Illinois, by Henry B. Sauerman and John A. Sauerman.  Henry enlisted in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in August, 1911, and retired due to health concerns in 1914. He was an advocate for highway and railroad development for national defense, and passed away May 20, 1919. As of 1921, John A. Sauerman was the sole proprietor of Sauerman Brothers.
