Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection consists of sales literature discussing the company’s products.

Biographical Note

According to correspondence found with this company’s sales literature, the Wonder Hoist hand winch was produced by Beckwith Machine Company (Collection 149) in Ravenna, Ohio. Circa July 1931, the patterns, inventory and spare parts for the line was sold to Edward R. Bacon Company (Collection 2331) of San Francisco, California. The winch was produced by Machinery Manufacturers in San Francisco, California as of April 1932. A letter from Edward R. Bacon dated April 1937 states that Machinery Manufacturers had been out of business for several years and that parts for the Wonder Hoist were no longer available.
