Historical Note: Edward F. Terry organized the Edward F. Terry Manufacturing Company in early 1916 to continue the crane and derrick manufacturing business of The Terry & Tench Company, Inc. The companies shared offices in Grand Central Terminal in New York City and a factory in Kearny, New Jersey. A catalog published twenty-two years after either the company’s founding or the introduction of Terry & Tench derricks lists Terry’s factory as being in Harrison, New Jersey.
